Ok, rarely have I bragged about a camera like I have with this model the Canon a3100. As of Sunday the second of New Year I am changing my tune to just an excellent camera, not better then any camera I ever tried but still very good. A camera this size just can't be the greatest, it needs a bigger lens, and a tad better or bigger processor. My original review: Get this camera, its the best camera I ever tried below 200 dollars and of course you can bag it for 99 dollars no less! How Canon can give you this quality is something I ask myself , knowing camera makers usually give you hype but leave out photo quality. I am not sure how big the sensor is, or isn't but the camera delivers unbelievable photo quality. The shots come close to a good 12 megapixel dslr. There are some limitations namely zoom and you can't change the lens (drats) but then again you can't get ZEN 100 times over in the same camera for 99 dollars. Sure it would be great at 14megs and better zoom but it is what it is and for what it is, it does it best then the competition.. In low light I managed to get one good shot in low light out of eight shots without flash which to me is good considering the amazing quality. The cameras build worries me because I assume its cheap plastic. Make sure you buy 2 to have one available in case you drop one. I am very serious here. If photo quality and ease of use and fast shots are important, this is the top of the heap for small camera and I even won't hesitate to suggest its the best bargain camera ever made of all time. what is it about the 3100 that works so good ? ? Your talking to someone who use to rely on knowing the differences between the Sony W230 and other Sony W cameras to brag about but the Canon makes it easy to stop worrying about those differences. Canon a3100 has all u need to get great shots forever more within the small zoom lens range unfortunately.
