The Bottom Line:
Great for the money. Good all-around printer.
I have had this printer now for 6 months and I must say I have been thoroughly pleased with it. When replacing an outdated lexmark I wanted a good, fairly priced AIO that could print photos pretty well but I didn't need a professional office quality/photo printer. Much to my surprise I have one that is only rivaled by the photo lab I use for film printing and the laser printer at work. I wanted something to also print extra photos of my daughters wedding last spring and to date I have printed upwards of 500+ 4x6 with excellent results and no malfunctions. As with any printer it took a little trial and error to find the correct/best paper to use as all are not of the same quality. I don't need to use the best paper, although sometimes its preferred, and again the type and finish of paper is a big determining factor in photo finish quality. I also must say I have been very pleased with the ink usage and the cost of the cartridges has come down in the last six months too, at least where I buy them. The text printing is fast and the quality is excellent. Black/white and color text is excellent.
Set up for the printer was easy when you follow the directions. The software loaded easily and everything started functioning with out problems and has been for over 6 months. On screen menues are easy to follow and it only takes a little playing around with it to figure out how everything works. That's been kinda fun...When you learn how to do something different it's like "WOW that's pretty neat!" It will load photos directly from my card and I don't have to use the camera program. One click and they're saved. Scanning/copying has been flawless and the machine is fast in doing these too.
You have to take a little time to learn all the "bells and whistles" and be patient and experiment but I have been extremely happy with it.
