Great Everyday Color Printer

Pros Fast color printing, Independent color cartridges, Bottom paper tray, Clean Design, Two-Side Printing, Good Value.
Cons Front door is flimsy, Automatic printer head alignment didn't work.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Recommended. If you are just looking for a good quality, fast, printer for documents, web pages, pictures, and all-around use; this a great choice for the money.
I recently purchased this printer for software interface design work at home. So far, it performs well, and is very easy to use.
I like the independent ink cartridges, because my work often can go months working with the same colors. My last printer, an Epson, had one, three color ink cartridge. I would often use up all of the cyan, even though the magenta and yellow were nearly full, and I needed to buy an expensive new cartridge. I may use the cyan color at 3 times the rate of the others, so with the Canon, I can just replace only the cyan, and save money by not wasting the other inks.
The Cannon Pixma ip4000 was right in the price range I wanted, and makes a good graphics printer.
I like how fast and reliably it prints. I can print several pages in the morning before work without having to baby-sit the machine; I can leave it unattended, and expect my printing to be done when I am ready to leave.
I haven't used the photo printing settings yet, as that is not my primary use, but it can print all the way to the edge, which is helpful when margins get tight.
The printer can actually print on both sides of the page by itself, something that I didn't even realize when I bought it. That is a nice feature for anyone wanting to save paper.
I did have an issue when I set it up, the Automatic head alignment feature didn't complete successfully, even after many tries; but it prints just fine, so I don't know if this is a problem or not.
I am very pleased with this printer after a week of use.
