Excellent if you don't want high resolution photo printing

Bought this ip4000 because of the uniformly high reviews. I've been using HP inkjets for years and have been reasonably satisfied but the specs for the 4000 for the price looked unbeatable. In general, the reviews are right. But when you want to print an image beyond 6" wide in "standard" or higher mode on either Canon Photo Plus Glossy or HP Premium Photo Paper Glossy, you will notice lines in the darkest areas that are very evenly spaced. On Canon paper, the lines are less noticeable; on the HP paper they are conspicuous. Despite using every single trouble-shooting step Canon asks for and emails with tech support and with phone support (did you know they do not communicate with one another?), the problem persists. The machine is only 5 months old and I did not discover the problem till I started printed my high resolution photos. The lines are about 1/2 inch apart and only appear in very dark areas. In all other respects, the 4000 exceeds my expectations.
