The MP530 works adequately, but demands sacrifices in the form of ink cartridges.
I bought this device to replace a Brother HL-1040, for two reasons: I was buying a home and I knew I would be doing a lot of scanning and faxing, and I wanted to be able to do occasional colour printing of photos and other documents such as maps.

HUGE DESIGN FLAW: READ BEFORE BUYING
I was happy with my machine until a small problem revealed a catastrophic design flaw. Had I known, I would never have bought it. Please consider this before buying! Canon should be embarrassed about putting out a product with this flaw.

Very good printer but for one big issue.
This is a good printer, especially the duplex printing function. That function is great, save paper, can do lots of good stuff with it.
However! Ink usage destroys all the good. Why? Have no idea why the engineers decided to do it this way but it really stinks.

Nice printer, bad cartridges
This AIO has a lot of nice features, particularly duplex printing. Unfortunately, I have had nothing but problems with the ink carts. I think it's a bit overrated
I read many reviews and this printer seemed to generaly get good ones. I needed a printer and it was on sale at Fry's so I bought one. It was to replace an HP6210 I broke.
