Complete flexibility in a film camera
Keep in mind that my comments are not in comparison to other similar competitive products, and there's still a little bit of "wow" factor for the features like auto-focus that my last camera didn't have.
A few years ago after I lost my trusty basic Minolta SLR, I thought the time was...

My Canon (EOS Elan7) Shoots everything!!
This is a review of the Canon EOS Elan7 35mm AF SLR. The camera I purchased does not have eye-control (that is the 7E) nor does it have the quartz-date feature (though it is an option.)
A Bit of Background:
I've been taking pictures avidly since I was about 12 years old. That's about...

Very nice body from canon
I am an advanced amature. Previously I used the original Elan (1992 model)and Rebel 2000 bodies. However Elan 7 ( bought used) is the best bang for my money.
Features- all idiot modes plus P, AV, TV , M and DEP modes surely put you in command. 13 Custom functions is more than necessary for me...

Very good camera for the money
Elan 7NE (Eye Controlled Focus) is the new and slightly improved version of the Elan 7E.
This is a perfect camera for an advanced amateur as well as a backup body for a pro. AF is very quick, and even in low light it performs reasonably well. If one feels that AF in low light is too slow, I...

Great value, Canon offers a wide range of lenses for all price ranges
I have had the Elan 7 for a year now and I have taken it on several trips. I have used it to shoot the northern lights, taken it with me while hiking in the snow in below freezing temperatures in the Adirondacks, and it was with me while I walked the dusty streets of Calcutta. I now have a fairly... Read full review »
This Camera Will Perform
I shoot my own photos, I develop my own film, I produce my own pictures, I believe when you purchase a camera, you purchase a tool that is going to last you a lifetime. (Or at least 15 years)
I purchased this camera through B&H with a 2 year extended warrenty, along with the 28-105mm USM...

My EOS Elan experience
I bought an EOS Elan on March 1995. Worked perfectly for 3 years. Then the power button stopped working. I put it aside for 3 or 4 years and then send it to repair recently. I paid only $85 for the repair and works as perfect as the same day it stopped working! It is a great camera. If you like a... Read full review »
Great Camera = Great Pictures
Beautiful camera with many options. A good camera for the beginner but also good enough for the advanced photographer. One of Canon's best camera for the money. I love the camera functions and ease of use. The auto-function on this camera is exceptionally good. It also has a quiet function for the... Read full review »
Great starter camera
I received this camera as a gift, since I was interested in learning photography. This camera has grown with me as my experience increases. Settings allow for the camera to do all the work, which is good when you are learning composition and basic lens functions. When you are ready, you can step it... Read full review »
Great camera! Very quiet, quick, and steady.
I may be partial to Canons but this one is an excellent camera. It is very quiet (at least compared to my Rebel G) and it has options for almost anything you can want to do as an amateur photographer. It has a much thicker body than the older Rebel G so it feels much sturdier. Read full review »
