I purchased this camera last year just before my senior year at college.  The camera is awesome, it takes great pictures and amazing videos once you have the concept of how an SLR works.  If you are willing to go into aperture priority and manual mode this will be a great camera.  If... I absolutely love the Canon T1i! When my son was born I was on the lookout for a good camera to catch all of those little moments. This camera allows me to do just that. It isn't a small little pocket camera so I did purchase an additional one to keep on my diaper bag but I have saved tons of money... Read full review »

Pros Light, fast processor, excellent performance, full compatibility.
Cons Too many accessories for my budget

I bought the T1I as an upgrade from my previous Digital Rebel and EOS 10s. Compatibility with my existing 28-135is and 75-300is lenses was a given, and I added the brilliant Canon 10-22 ultrawide zoom to my kit. After 3 weeks of hiking around Australia and New Zealand, I couldn't be happier with... Read full review »

Being a Nikon user I was very impressed with this upper upper-entry-level DSLR. Canon EOS Rebel T1i 15.1MP Digital SLR Camera with IS Lenses and 8GB DLX Acc. Kit - ACANEOSDRT1IK4

Canon's EOS Rebel T1i admirable performance with 15.1 Megapixel Canon CMOS sensor, DIGIC 4 Image Processor, a 3.0-inch Clear View LCD with anti-reflective and scratch- resistant coating, and compatibility with the EOS System of lenses and Speedlites, the EOS Rebel T1i adds remarkable Full HD video capture at resolutions up to 1920 x 1080. A HDMI port allows for quick connections to high definition TVs and monitors for easy viewing of your stills and video. The entire operation is simple and easy even if you are a beginner. You will have uncompromised EOS Digital performance with power and flexibility right in the palm of your hand. Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS SLR Lens: Canon's latest optical Image Stabilizer (IS) technology provides up to 4-stop compensation for image blur caused by camera shake and slow shutter speeds. Photographers normally shooting handheld at 1/250 sec can switch on IS to obtain a similarly steady and blur-free result with a shutter speed of just 1/15 second. The inclusion of automatic panning detection makes it easier for photographers to track wildlife and other moving subjects. Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Telephoto Zoom Lens: It is designed with Canon's Optical Image Stabilizer technology and is compact and light. This high zoom ratio lens is equivalent to a focal length of 88-400mm in the 35mm format. The image stabilizer effect is equivalent to a shutter speed about 4 stops faster than the same size lens without Image Stabilizer. In other words, if the slowest shutter speed you could formerly hold a 250mm lens steadily was 1/250th of a second, with Canon's 4-stop stabilization correction, you could hand-hold at shutter speeds as slow as 1/15th of a second. It also uses a UD-glass lens element to correct chromatic aberration for excellent image quality throughout the zoom range. 8 GB Deluxe Accessory Kit: Loaded with extremely useful accessories.
