The Bottom Line:
If you are a serious hunter you will enjoy the amount of time and detail that goes into this game.
I bought this product expecting to get a home version of the arcade game Big Buck Hunter. But, if you're looking to simulate the fast-paced action of the arcade game Big Buck Hunter, this is NOT it. However, it is a fairly challenging, and fun game for the real hunter. It is more of a first-person, role-playing game with required, and excluded, game to be hunted. It's molded around the whole hunting experience. You meet different people who give you certain advice and hints to try in order to get to the 'big game'. The 'big game' at the end of each level becomes increasingly more and more evasive, which can become annoying after you've walked around the same forest for upwards of 20 minutes or so. There are also mini quick-shooting games (duck hunting, fox hunting, etc.) which you can enter into on each level. You are given a PDA which has your map, allowable hunting game, trophys, and other items. The map is useful as it guides you where to position yourself for the next checkpoint. Also helpful is a feature called Hunter Sense which blacks out all non-game items in the environment. The rifles are nice, and you get a scope right off the bat which helps a lot too. Different guns, calls, scents, and other articles are picked up along the way to enhance your skills and experience. With all this in mind, it is not a BAD game- just a different game than I expected; a little more time consuming.
