Black and Decker Dust Buster Cyclonic Power Vac: Now we?re talking!

Powerful little motor really cleans up - fast and easy!
Cons
Might be a little heavy for some people.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Very useful for home or car. Has all the attachments you need, rechargeable, great for family use.
Since the little turbo vac I bought (at Sears) failed me so miserably, I just bought a new Black and Decker Dust Buster Cyclonic Power Vac. Doesn't that name sound powerful? I guess it's supposed to remind you of a cyclone or tornado! The familiar name "Dust Buster" has been around for several years now. I have had two of the old models and they have served me well over the years. But the time had finally come when they had outlived their usefulness.
The new Dust Buster looks quite similar to the old one I had but it is sleeker, a little more "21st century-looking" in style. It's also a bit heavier than my old Dust Buster, but not too heavy. The fact that is a slightly heavier than my old Dust Buster is okay with me because I feel that the motor is strong and works effectively. It has a nice design and the handle is easy to grip. The body of the vacuum is white and the nozzle portion is a green-gray color. Most of all, it has great suctioning power. I use it with ease in my car now and it gets everywhere to clean up even the smallest specks of dirt. I am very happy with the Dust Buster because you charge it up overnight and it is ready to go. It holds its power for plenty of time and I have not yet had it lose power.
I use this powerful little vacuum everywhere -- it is so handy and easy to grab for quick pick-ups - on the stairs, in the car, in my kitchen and front hallway, where dust collects. Since I have started to do a (very!) little bit of spring cleaning, I also use the crevice attachment for those high, hard-to-reach places where cobwebs tend to collect. There are two settings for vacuuming, a low speed and a high speed.
Accessories are stored flat on the underside of the vacuum unit, a feature I like very much. I chose not to mount my Dust Buster on a wall (although the mounting supplies are included), rather preferring to keep it on the floor, in a hidden corner near a little table where it is not noticeable, but I have easy access to it. I do have to use two hands to slide it into its holder to make sure it is setting right so it charges. When it is in the correct charging position, a little red light comes on, so I know it is seated properly.
The instructions warn you never to use the Dust Buster without its reusable filters. They are not to be confused with the dust bags. Depending on how much you use the Dust Buster, the manufacturer recommends changing the filters every 6-9 months. It is also recommended to wash the filter in mild soapy water. Of course, with any electrical appliance, you should never immerse the unit in water. This appliance uses a nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) rechargeable battery. When the batteries no longer hold a charge they may be recycled and replaced.
Comes with a full two year warranty, which is wonderful, but I have no doubt it will last me well beyond two years. This is such a wonderful product; I have become so dependent on mine, I really don't know what I would do for quick little cleanups if I didn't have one.
