The Bottom Line:
Superb optics and construction at a bargain price
I have used the Bushnell Legend 8x42 binoculars for over two years. They compare favorably with the Elites et al, at about 1/2 the price (or less). I have used them in the rain, early in the morning, and late in the evening, side-by-side with a pair of Bausch&Lomb Elites, and the differences in optical quality were virtually undetectable.
On top of that, they are armored, which makes them easy to grip, even in winter here in Canada. And if you should happen, to let them slip, you won't have to kiss your investment goodbye.
Although the adverts that I have seen promote them as hunting binoculars, I have yet to find a better birding binoculars for the price.
