None of your Beeswax!
Pros
Soothes chapped lips, works quickly, cheap.
Cons
Feels a little too thick.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
If you need help with soothing your chapped lips, this is the lip balm for you!
Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm is proclaimed to be the best lip balm in the world. Now granted, this proclamation can only be seen on Burt's Bees website, but that's beside the point.
My boyfriend gets very chapped lips in the wintertime. I tend to get them as well, but not as bad. We currently have one tube of this lip balm on hand and it is used several times a day.
Product Claims
This is Burt's Bees most popular product and with good reason. It claims to:
- Be chocked full of ingredients to help soothe cracked, chapped, or burning lips.
Appearance
I have this product in the .15 oz tube version, but you can also buy it in a .3 oz tin version. If you're not a big fan of sticking your finger into your lip products, get the tube.
The tube is made with 50% post-industrial recycled plastic. Burt's Bees prides itself on making "earth friendly natural personal care products". This lip balm is listed as being 95.29% natural.
Does it Work?
This balm works so good that we often fight over the one tube constantly. When you apply it, you immediately feel a tingling feeling as this product gets to work soothing your lips. I recently went to Texas for the holidays and left this tube at home. My lips were in terrible shape by the time I came back. One of the first things that I did was apply this to my lips and within a day, they were back in shape. No more chapped lips, no more peeling and painful skin. If your lips are in bad condition, you will feel an immediate difference once this is applied.
Applying this before going to bed guarantees that you will wake up with softer, more moisturized lips. This is great for ladies who need help applying lip products.
Pros
1. Soothes chapped lips.
2. Quick acting.
3. Inexpensive. You can purchase this for $2.50.
Cons
The only problem that I have with this lip balm is that it is a little thick. You can definitely feel it on your lips. I have a tendency to rub my lips together when I wear it because I am constantly aware that I have it on. However, I don't think this balm would be as effective if it didn't have this consistency.
Conclusion
This lip balm may very well be the best lip balm in the world. I have used several different types of medicated balms and nothing has performed better than Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm. The fact that we fight over the one tube that we own is a testament to its success. It's also a testament to our laziness. Instead of purchasing another tube (at a cheap price of $2.50), we'd rather fight over it. Just make sure if more than one person needs this in your household, you buy more than one tube or tin.
Ingredients
Beeswax, coconut oil, sunflower oil, tocopheryl acetate and tocopherol (Vitamin E), lanolin, peppermint oil, comfrey root extract, rosemary extract.
