I didn't realize how bad it was til I tried neutrogena
Pros
organic, nice case
Cons
didn't work
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
if you don't really need a good chapstick, Burt's is fine, but if your lips are about to peel off your face, it's time to buy Neutrogena
I got some comments telling me my review was not helpful because i didn't give any product info....so I have updated my review:
I shopped at the Bread and Circus organic grocery store, so this was the only lip balm product on the shelves.
Case: Pretty orange and red case with that organic-y look,
it was a nice case and made me happy to buy the product. It is a standard chapstick type case.
Texture: it felt waxy. Well, it's made by bees so that makes sense. It felt like it sat on my lips for about 10 minutes due to the waxiness, as opposed to a lotion that sinks right in and is gone.
Effect. I was using this product to heal large cracks in my extremely chapped lips, rather than to prevent them. The effect was pretty minimal. In fact I developed new cracks while I was using it. It sealed over the cracks in my lips for a few minutes at a time, but it did nothing to treat the underlying problem of chapped lips. Especially my angular stomatitis, that can be really painful. I used the product for a month and I only got worse. Developed new cracks. No improvement. I didn't realize how bad it was until I tried Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer, and they started to heal within HOURS. Now they are completely healed after a few days. I don't know what else to say about the product, because I feel that its total lack of efficacy trumps any other product info.
Smell: Not much of a smell. Like unscented wax.
