Burt's Bees Lip Balm --Try it you'll like it!

Pros Burt's Beeswax Lip Balm is a healing lip balm.
Cons No sunscreen. The tin is difficult to open with wet or oily hands.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Burt's Beeswax Lip Balm is a product that performs better that I expected. I will continue to use it.
Burt's Beeswax Lip Balm comes in a .15 oz tube or a .30 oz tin. I purchased the .30 oz tin in the Burt's Bees Head to Toe Starter Kit along with several other products for $11.99 at a local gift shop.

What's In It?
Burt's Beeswax Lip Balm contains: coconut oil, beeswax, sweet almond oil, lanolin, tocopheryl acetate and tocopherol (vitamin E), peppermint oil, comfrey root extract.

My Experience
Burt's Beeswax Lip Balm has simply restored my lips to a more youthful feeling since this summer of fishing, riding around in my Jeep Wrangler and swimming. The addition of comfrey to the mixture was a positive as it has healing and restorative properties to the skin.

The peppermint flavor is also interesting. It is refreshing once you put this on your lips. There is no tingling, but a strong peppermint taste upon your lips. I can't say it burns or stings, but it is strong, so be prepared.

As I said earlier Burt's Beeswax Lip Balm comes in a .30 oz tin which is a bit ornery to get open with damp or oily hands. I think I would prefer the tube except for the price is the same for either, and you get twice the lip balm in the tin. Maybe a screw type lid would work better, who knows. Anyway, you rub your finger across the lip balm and then rub it on your lips. It's just that simple, unless like me, your hands might have fish goop or worm goop on them, then the tube would be preferable... ;-)

My dry chapped lips literally hurt when I applied this the first time, I think it might have been the peppermint oil in this stuff. However, overnight, the redness and cracks of the chapped lips had gone away. My lips were still sore, but definitely on the mend. I applied more in the morning when I got up. Now the funny thing is this, if I apply it at night before bed, it lasts all night. I wake up and rub my lips together, and they are still smooth and moist.

Burt's Beeswax Lip Balm is one product that lives up to its name. It is a LIP BALM!! The all natural ingredients help heal and restore lips and skin.

I will also tell you this. I applied this product to an itchy insect bite while at the river. I didn't have anything else at the time...guess what! It didn't itch too much more after that. I have also used this on other minor skin irritations (the comfrey) and they have healed more quickly than usual. Okay, it's my basic first aid kit in a tin.

I truly love the way the 1/2 dollar sized container fits into my jeans and doesn't bind or get in the way if I move. Also, when I'm wading, the lid stays on, and the lake/river water doesn't contaminate the product. It's impressive.

Final Thoughts
I am convinced that whatever Burt's Bees markets will be a quality product that performs as well as the maker says it will. All of the Burt's Bees products that I have tried so far have only convinced me to continue to try more of them. I am so happy that my food co-op now carries Burt's Bees products. I do know they have a lip balm with sunscreen in it, but I haven't tried it yet. I am pleased with the ease of use, and the performance of Burt's Beeswax Lip Balm.
