Affordable printer, Affordable Ink

The Bottom Line:
Great for everyday color printing, good for photo printing. Ink tanks are very affordable.
We have this printer in our office and we use it almost every day.
We don't print a lot of photo quality images, just good quality color printing on regular 20lb 90 brightness paper.
Even with just standard paper, we get very nice results from our i560.
This Canon features 4 seperate ink tanks: black, red, yellow & blue. This is a very nice feature, making replacing ink very cheap. Normally Canon brand ink is just about $10 each, but generic ink tanks can be found for less than $5 each. We have even refilled ink tanks with no drop in quality.
This makes this printer VERY affordable when it comes time to replace ink.
I have even used generic ink tanks with excellent results.
Once in a while we will print photo quality & we have had good results with gloss photo and matte photo paper.
You can even purchase PHOTO specific ink tanks that are supposed to be even better photo quality, although I haven't used the PHOTO ink tanks.
Color printing is very crisp and colors are always bright.
The printer has an average footprint size, not a tiny printer by any means, but not huge.
The i560 is quiet when printing and quite fast.
SPEED: This printer is pretty darn quick! I forgot the specs on pages per minute, but I'd guess I can print about 10 to 12 pages per minute with 50% coverage.
With Canon's print manager, you can print borderless. This allows you to print an 8.5" x 11" page with nearly 100% coverage.
You can connect the i560 to your PC via USB or parallel port. I prefer USB for a little faster print speed.
