I purchased this machine to take with me when we travel. I love to sew while staying at a hotel while my husband is at a conference. This machine is light-weight, but still offers all of the features that I wanted. I use it to make everything from rag quilts (sewing through 6 layers of fabric at one time) to doll clothing, to basic repairs. I have always had Singer machines, but liked the price vs features of this one so I decided to try it. I was amazed after sewing on this Brother, then returning to my Singer at how LOUD my Singer was compared to this Brother. I have been sewing for 40 years and am very pleased with this machine. If/when my sons marry, I would even consider buying this for a shower gift for their bride - everyone can use a machine like this!
