I Love Brother!
Pros
Smooth sewing, quiet and easy to use.
Cons
This fun machine makes me want to spend more time than I have sewing!
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
I recommend this machine to anyone - it's easy to learn and use, especially with the helpful video that comes with it.
This sewing machine is amazing -- so sturdy and quiet with all the modern features like automatic threading, up/down needle position button, drop-in bobbin, quick thread clip button, etc. (well, modern to me since I used an old Kenmore before getting this one.) My first project was an item my husband wanted for his RV using a rough sport netting. The machine worked great right off the bat, where my old machine would have made a mass of tangled threads. Even though I hadn't sewn in years (decades) I was able to get going without hassle. My next project used a thin gauzy material, also easily handled by the machine. I'm looking forward to more sewing, now that it is so much fun.
I purchased the machine from Amazon, which immediately responded and treated me more than fairly when I perceived a little problem with the shipping. Also, I must say I was a little put off when I first saw the machine and its Mickey Mouse logo, but after the first few stitches, I fell in love with it and wouldn't trade Mickey for anything. I also just got a cheap Brother fax/printer which works smoothly, quietly and better than more expensive printers I've had. Seems one can expect good quality from Brother.
