Brother SE-270D Computerized Sewing Machine

The first one I purchased at Walmart I had only a couple months before it had problems. It would stop in the middle of the embroidery design, give me error messages, the LCD screen would stutter, turn blue or even go blank, and the machine would freeze up causing me to have to turn power off and back on so I could remove the item I was stitching on. I called Brother toll free number for service and they were happy to have it shipped back for repairs but I would be paying for the shipping there. They suggested I try returning it to Walmart so they could fill out a repair order on it and pay for shipping (Brother says they have a non-advertised agreement with them to do this.) However when I returned it to Walmart and discussed my problem with it they gave me back my money instead. I went to another Walmart and purchased a new machine. It works great and I hope to have no more problems. It has a one year guarantee if something should happen, (25 year warranty on motor). Brother's customer service reps were great to deal with and that is a big plus for me. The 270 comes with a 4x4 inch hoop but you can purchase a smaller hoop for tiny embroidery designs or learn to do hoop placement for larger designs. There are many feet that come with the machine that make even button holes simple. Sewing with it is like most other Brother sewing machines. Fun to work with. Built-in stitches for embroidery as well as quilting. Overall it is a great machine for a low cost budget. The biggest cost will be supplying your addiction to sewing and embroidering. It is just so simple to work.
