The Bottom Line:
Bottom line, Brother has earned my business due to price, reliability and low cost ink replacement. It just makes good cents!!
It has been nothing short of acceptable for this recent purchase; middle of 2008. After installing the unit, I found it challenging to network so I reinstalled the software and firmware from Brother's website and voila'...perfection! It was located on the network with no hassles from that point forward. The low ink functionality is great in my opinion which enabes me to know or budget for ink purchases ahead of schedule. How many times have any of us run out of ink during a print job? I have! It is a pain to say the least especially when you need to print a contract for a buyer while caring for a young child. Who has time to pack everything into the car just to buy ink in order to finish the print job? Not me! I have always been interested in Brother all-in-ones due to price since realizing the most expensive part of any machine purchase is usually the ink/toner replacement costs. Speaking of ink costs, I have found that Brother ink cartridges are no more expensive than their competitors replacement ink. The ink pricing varies greatly as I research things and am very pleased to see the options available are very cost effective. The scan feature is excellent providing vivid reproduction of all types of photos, documents and older photos from the family reunions! The fax feature is a no brainer and offers color functionality! I highly encourage consideration of this unit given my 'no problems too big to overcome' experience to date.
