Paperless PC-FAX receive is nearly useless!
Pros
Still nice if meets your needs
Cons
Not so nice paperless FAX operations
Recommended it?
No
I bought a 640CW and so a friend bought a 420CN thinking that he would lose just the wireless network connections function of my more $$ 640CW.
Wrong!
With the 420CN, you can output paperless FAX's from any networked PC. However you can't receive FAX's to ANY PC for paperless viewing (PC-FAX Receive) unless you connect the 420CN to a PC via the USB port. One way NIC functionality?
The more $$ 640CW (and I guess the 620CN?) sends (from any PC on the network)plus receives networked paperless FAX's to one "master" PC that is setup for PC-FAX Receive. No USB connection needed.
So why not with 420CN? Buy the more $$ model seems to be the only reason since the NIC is installed and configured for printing and sending FAX's.
So locate the 420 near a PC's USB port if you want paperless incoming FAX's.
