The Bottom Line:
If you need a fax for home and you are not a heavy user, go for it.
I did not have a fax machine in my life till today, though I use it in office all the time. Ever since got a VOIP service in my home, I have a reason to have a fax machine too, for those weekends when I have to send a fax and the office is closed and Kinko's want 2 bucks a page. So I purchased FAX575 from Officedepot with 50 dollar rebate (that SOB better come in time). Ripping apart the packing did not take long once I picked up the box from porch.
Installed everything in 5 minutes and started send my first fax from home. Well, that did not work out. I went thru the manual and second time, voila. It works fine, as it should be. Guys, before giving a single * to a product, read the manual. I noticed a few people said that the copy quality is poor. There is little button on the machine where you can select from standard to photo quality scan (don't expect to look it like a scan from a real scanner) and the scan from super fine quality is also darn good in comparison to the scanner in my office. Overall, I am very happy with my experience of one day with this scanner. I have not tested the fax receiving yet, but I believe it will work just fine.
