The best I have ever seen!
Pros
Wonderful machine, has memory, has a speller.
Cons
Is not a computer
Recommended it?
Yes
My senior year in high school I decided I wanted a typewriter. I knew my parents could not afford a computer or a word processor, but I knew that I was going to need a typewriter for college. I asked for an electric typewriter, thinking I would get the cheapest one out there. What I got was this typewriter.
First, this is a lightweight typewriter. This came in handy when I went to college because I could haul this thing to any corner and type. Plus, since it is small you can put it under your bed and not take up most of a desk or corner of the room with it.
This typewriter is easy to use. I had no problem ever replacing the correction tape or the ink tape. The instructions are printed on the hood. It only takes a couple of seconds to change things. Plus, there were a couple of times I ran out of money and was unable to purchase replacement tapes. When this happened, I could rewind the correction or the ink tape once and use it. This isn?t the highest quality, but it helps when your poor.
One of my favorite things about this product is that you can type out a line and it will not print it until you hit the return button. You can then check for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors on the LCD panel before you type the line out. This help a bunch if you are a bad typer like me and you hit other keys because your fingers do not have the proper coordination and you think faster than you type and you end up with really run on sentences like this one (this was done on purpose to show a point!) This saved me loads of money on correction tape.
Another one of my favorite things about this typewriter is that it beeps everytime you spell a word it doesn?t recognize. I am the worst speller in the world. I have to type all my epinions in Word before I post it because if I didn?t the spelling errors you would see would make you ill. Plus, I am dyslexic, and sometimes me words and sentences get all mixed up because of this. With this typewriter, it would beep if I spelled dog "dgo" or cat "tca". This was really helpful to me.
Finally, I loved this machine because I was taking Spanish class and had to write reports in Spanish. This typewriter has all the characters I needed to do this. All I had to do was push the Alt or Ctrl key to use the little green letter on the correct keys. I had to look for the key, but they were displayed above the regular key on the keyboard!
Pros:
1. Lightweight.
2. Easy to change the cartridge.
3. LCD panel that saves what you type to be printed later.
4. Speller with memory that beeps when you misspell something. You could also have it remember certain words so that it doesn?t beep. Thus if you had some strange name like Abshire or Shadoff you can program these in and you don?t have to hear it beep everytime you type them.
5. Contains characters from a different language.
Cons:
1. Doesn?t play games. It is a typewriter.
I really love this machine! If you are looking for a typewriter, go with this one. It is great!
