Brother CS6000i Computerized Sewing Machine

Bought this machine a couple of years ago, and have really enjoyed using it.  Machine has lots of bells and whistles, more computerized stitches than I can even find a use for, comes with lots of handy tools and parts.  I'm not subjecting it to a lot of use, maybe a few small projects a year, and general home use (mending, mostly), but now it has completely stopped working.  Have tried everything, replaced the innards, etc.  Still can't sew even a basic seam -- the thread immediately tangles inside the machine, and the whole thing just seizes up.  I read the reviews on Amazon.com, and others have reported the same phenomenon.  Apparently, because the internal components are largely constructed of plastic, they wear out very quickly, and can't be repaired.  So, it was fun while it lasted, and I enjoyed all of the computerized stitching features, but don't expect to get more than a few years out of this machine.
