This seat is worth the money!
Pros
Most comfortable car seat I've seen. Straps adjust VERY easily. Resistant to twisted straps.
Cons
More expensive than other brands.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
With a high-frequency use item like a car seat it is absolutely worth it to spend the extra money on a more user-friendly product. You won't be sorry you did!
When budgeting our baby dollars safety was a primary concern for me. The Britax Roundabout was one of the safest car seats per Consumer Reports. We selected this one and another top rated seat that was half as expensive.
I have never regretted the Britax purchase. I only wish we'd bought one for my husband's car as well. I put my son in this seat every day (sometimes multiple times) and the straps and buckles are just as user-friendly as they were almost two years ago. It is so easy to adjust the tightness of the straps that I can easily adjust it with every use.
Meanwhile our non-Britax car seat has straps that have developed permanent creases in them from repeatedly getting twisted. The tension adjustment on that seat is so difficult I worry that my in-laws or my parents wouldn't be persistent enough to get it right.
I plan to use this car seat again with future children but will definitely replace the cheaper one with another Britax for the next child.
Over the lifetime of a car seat, the cost-per-use won't be that much higher for a really good one like the Britax over some of the cheaper brands. I'd advise anyone to spring for the Britax without hesitation!
