The Bottom Line:
I say definitely put the Britax Cowmooflage Marathon in your car -- and at the minimum, on the top of your list!
As my long and lanky baby girl began to outgrow her infant carseat, I began my quest for a convertible carseat. My criteria? Safety, ease of use and ease on the eyes. I found all three in the Britax Cowmooflage Marathon!
As I said earlier, safety was paramount. After doing my research, I was pleased to learn about the testing procedures (ie, using simulated crash scenarios). I like the way the seat anchors into the metal latches embedded in my rear carseat and feel my child is furthermore protected with the tether that then attaches. In addition, my daughter's neck remains safe from chafing and discomfort thanks to the two shoulder strap pads.
Tangled straps -- what I wrestled with when using her infant carseat -- are a thing of the past. Straps stay straight and allow you easy child entry and exit from the seat. (Every moment is precious when dealing with the child on the verge of a meltdown!) Also, what I liked about the Marathon over the other seats is that there were better options in terms of moving the shoulder straps as my girl grows. She's a tall beanstalk, and I liked how there are three options to move the straps up -- the highest setting is higher than the other models offered by Britax.
And did you notice just how ridiculously cute the cow pattern is? C'mon! Even if you're not big into bovine, you can't say it ain't adorable! It goes great with the interior of my car (it's tan) and I cannot fathom it not looking moo-velous in cars with black, gray, etc... interiors.
