The Bottom Line:
The best seat for the child's safety
I have a britax boulevard, and absolutely love it. We have used a Britax Wizard, a Sit n Stroll, and now the Boulevard. We have used the Boulevard for about 6 or 7 months now.
Britax Boulevard is about the same size as their Marathon, with added head rest wings to protect the head. The headrest adds a bit of height to the seat, and is adjustable up and down according to the child's height.
It is very easy to install to newer cars with two side latches, and back tether. A bit more work if it is older vehicles, and less stable as well.
In my opinion, a car seat's most important value is the safety it provides. If sitting in it does not make it more safe, why use one? Having had previous side-impact accidents, I think it is very important to have a side-impact protection car seat. You can never know when the next time someone driving in high speed is going to hit you running the red light. Currently on the market, there are not many car seats with this feature. Britax Wizard was one of them with side-impact protection, however, Boulevard is much better padded and more comfortable to sit in. I'd say the foam on the Boulevard also makes it safer as well, protecting a child's head and body from the impact to the sides of the car seat(side wings) itself.
The Boulevard is by far the best padded and comfortable car seat among the three seats. I appreciate this especially in longer car rides. Children in car seats would grow restless when it is uncomfortable to remain in the same position too long. They have my sympathy! Can you imagine being totally strapped-in and unable to move in one position for 30 minutes? How about a few hours? If you have a restless, irritated child, the car ride will be less safe and pleasant for sure. When we purchased the car seat, my son has already outgrown the belly pad, so we have never used it.
We own a different color pattern of fabric which isn't listed here at epinions. I bought it when Britax was phasing it out at a discounted price of 259. I thought it was a beautiful cover with a great price. The material is soft and my son loves his new seat. I think it is this seat that he prefers which caused him to prefer this car over all the other cars and seats. I would recommend buying a discontinued pattern if price is what holds you back from buying this.
