Cons No draft control. Limited scale on the thermometer.

I have used my Brinkmann Gourmet smoker twice over the last two weeks and had acceptable results both times. Smoking/BBQing food is different from grilling, even indirect heat grilling, and takes some practice.

Cons Hard to control temperature and have not yet gotten the process right after 3 attempts.

My grilling experience started with a Happy Cooker. It was a charcoal grill very much like a Weber, and was sold by Montgomery Wards. Pros Easy to light coals, easy to clean. Used as a grill too.

Cons Handles need to be shaped with pliers. Temperature gauge not very accurate but functional.

I purchased this smoker for a couple of reasons. The smoker cylinder lifts off the base for easy access to hot or cold charcoal. The charcoal pan has slots/ vents and the drip pan has a hole for air.
