Pros Price No messing with coals or gas Even, consistent temperature.
Cons No Thermometer. No vent No viable thermostat
Recommended it? Yes

Well I got mine about a month ago. So far it works great. I have done chicken, ribs and brisket. It stayed at about 250 degrees and everything smoked and cooked fine in roughly the time we thought it would take (which is slow). I am using it
without a cord which I think is important. It only... Read full review »

Brinkman Smoker: Makes a great meal.

Pros Easy to use, durable, makes great tasting food.
Cons Sometimes hard to get to food, not enough space, igniter died.
Recommended it? Yes

This is a propane-powered smoker. It is an upright design. There is no smoker box so you will always have heat coming from underneath.
I have owned this for over 4 years and I have absolutely no regrets about buying it. Even though I have a charcoal grill and a propane grill, I still need this... Read full review »

Piece of Garbage

Pros Nice picture on the box.
Cons No temperature control, lousy construction quality, potentially dangerous.
Recommended it? No

I used it twice and threw it away--money wasted. The biggest flaw is the absence of any temperature control. Serious barbeque--which is what I bought it for--cooks at 200-225 degrees. This thing roars along at about 375. That might work for poultry, but is way too hot for good beef or pork... Read full review »

No sweat smoking.

Pros A very forgiving and easy to use smoker. It's difficult to over cook your food.
Cons The grill aspect is a weak OK.
Recommended it? Yes

After you start smoking, you can forget it for four hours, then you need to add water. Other than that, there's nothing to do. Absolutely easy, carefree, smoking.

The grilling just doesn't have enough heat to sear, but will cook a steak with the lid on. Grills delicate food, like fish,... Read full review »

Cons Clean-up, takes awhile!

The Smoked turkey was Delicious! We got up at 6AM to start the eleven-pound bird and by 3PM, we had a beautiful, dark brown smoked turkey to share with our family. The Brinkmann Gourmet Electric Smoker and Grill is a dream to use.

I purchased this beautiful RED VERTICAL SMOKER from K-Mart... Read full review »

This article has been updated on 11/01/2000. I was pretty new to epinions when I wrote it the first time and needless to say, it was pretty awful. I hope this gives a little more information for potential buyers.

I have owned a Brinkmann smoker for years and finally decided that I had to... Read full review »

Pros Smoking and grilling
Cons Heavy to move
Recommended it? Yes

The Brinkman Smoke 'n Grill has proved to be a valuable asset. We barbeque frequently especially in summer. Too hot to cook indoors. For the price, the grill is very sturdy. I was impressed by the thickness of the metal and the very heavy legs. The inside metal grill is also very heavy and... Read full review »

Brinkmann Smoke n Grill charcoal/electric

bycraftgun40 May 24, 2000

Pros Fairly easy to use, good instruction manual and the option of many accessories
Cons can take a long time to get up to temperature, and causes a tremendous amount of smoke
Recommended it? Yes

A few years ago we bought the Brinkman Smoke n Grill. We have always enjoyed "smoked" turkey and salmon etc.

We decided on the Brinkman as it had a optional electric converter for the charcoal smoker and you could use it either way.

The smoker/grill is vertical and holds up to 50... Read full review »
