Lots of fun, not so much bounce!
Pros
Smaller than typical exersaucer, Affordable
Cons
Hard to adjust height level, Not as "bouncy" as you might think!
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
I recommend this toy as a fun, affordable alternative to a bulky exersaucer. It is not exactly "bouncy" though!
I purchased the Bright Starts Bounce Bounce Baby Activity Zone when my baby turned 4 months. I put it together myself, with just a screwdriver. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble it. The most difficult part of assembly was attaching the seat fabric to the plastic portion of the seat.
This is a good alternative to an exersaucer! It's not as large, it's got a triangular shape so it's easy to push into a corner if needed.
I love the bright colors! It also comes in pink, which I would have loved if I'd had a girl! This entertainer has 6 toys on it, plus a loop to hang one of your own toys from. One of the toys is a piano with 3 keys. It plays 6 tunes. It takes 2 AA batteries. The volume is just right on the piano. My baby was definitely entertained by the toys. His older siblings were also glad to entertain their baby brother with the toys on this activity center. The toys are simple. They click and roll and rock from side to side. He would sit in the Bounce Bounce Baby Activity Center for up to 30 minutes and be entertained.
The activity center also features a snack tray. I have never used it, because I prefer to feed my baby in the kitchen. And I think it's a little unsafe to feed baby snacks, when they are supposed to be bouncing!
The name "Bounce Bounce Baby" is a little deceiving. My baby has never really "bounced" in this toy. It does not have much spring to it. I would not buy this product for it's bouncing ability.
When it came time to adjust the platform to a lower level, I found that to be difficult. You have to pull this peg out of each leg, and then move it down. The peg is held in place by some small, but annoying, clips! I ended up having to use a butter knife to pry the clips off and remove the peg. Next time I had to adjust the platform level, I was prepared with my butter knife, and all went well.
My baby is now 8 1/2 months old and just under 24lbs. He is crawling like crazy and pulling up, and not so interested in being confined in the Bright Starts Bounce Bounce Baby Activity Zone. He pulls himself up on the outside of the activity center and is still very happy to play with the toys attached. But if I try to put him in the Activity Zone he leans over as far as he can, and I am concerned he could tip the thing over! He has never managed to tip it over, but the toy is pretty compact and he is quite large!!
