The Bottom Line:
I would recommend the Breville juicer because it is easy to use, easy to assemble, easy to clean and most importantly makes great juice and not great mush..
I'm new to the juicing world so this review will be really useful to those first time consumers like myself. I decided to purchase a juicer to help with my new years resolution which includes eating less fast food and eating more natural raw veggies. I did my research prior to making a purchase to ensure my first experience would be pleasant. I collected reviews from several sites to ensure the information and opinions were consistent. I must say that the reviews tell the truth and reflect the actual experience you will have when you receive your breville juicer. So far I am totally satisifted with the juicer.
The good....1. The juicer does not require an engineers degree to assemble and is very easy to attach and detach. I love the safety handle attachment as this handle ensures the attachments are in place because the motor will not start if the handle is not locked into place.2. Most of the attachments are very easy to clean. The filter is the only attachment that require a little elbow grease effort to get clean. So I choose to clean the filter with the scub brush provided as well as in the dishwasher to ensure it is cleaned well.3. Texture and quality of the juice: Once the juice is dispensed, the texture of the juice is smooth and is free of pulp. Almost like the juice you would purchase from the store. The texture reminds me of a Orange Julius drink. Frothy at the top and liquid like at the bottom. 4. I can now broaden my horizon and incorporate more veggies into my diet. I juiced a sweet potatoe, celery, cucumber, and carrot and to my surprise it was very tasty. This is the sole reason for my purchase. I'm going to juice all veggies I would never eat whole. I will chase the taste with an apple or carrots.
The bad....1. Waste of some fruits. The Breville does not handle small fruit very well. An absolute waste if you juice fruits like blue berries as a good portion of the fruit will end up as pulp and not as juice. 2. Oranges must be peeled prior to juicing. I thought whole fruits and veggies could be juiced without peeling but this model requires oranges to be peeled.3. Frothy juice. When the juice is dispensed you will get a layer of frost that accumulates at the top of the cup. This frothy taste is a matter of preference but I wish it did not dispense.
Overall opinion...I would recommend this product to anyone in the market for a juicer because it is easy to use, assemble, clean and most importantly it produces juice and not mush.
One final thing to note about this juicer. You will find yourself wasting a lot of the fruits and veggies you juice so I would not recommend juicing all types of fruits and veggies because a good portion goes to wastes as the pulp.
