The Bottom Line:
The best centrifugal juicer for the price. Great juicer for the first time user.
I bought this for my wife after doing a lot of research on juicers. I discovered that the prices for these things are all over the map as are people's experiences with them. I settled on this model because of the price and the fact that it is generally well liked. This is my first juicer so I have nothing to compare it to, but so far I am impressed. It extracts the juice very quickly, though maybe a little too quickly; depending on what we are juicing, the pulp ranges from slightly damp to almost dripping. I was surprised that it spins as fast as it does and yet isn't that loud; it's quieter than my blender is on low speed. It is a hassle to clean it immediately after every use, but I know if I don't I'll never get the pulp off of the screen. Fruit and vegetable starches make wonderful glue. Luckily, Breville includes a brush to help with the task. Being that we are juicer newbies, we are still getting used to the flavor of straight juice vs. prepackaged juice that has sweeteners, salt, msg, etc. added to make it taste better. Some combinations are better than others. The instruction manual comes with a handful of recipes, but I would suggest a juicing cookbook if you are new to this like I am.
