An Extremely Powerful 750 W Six Blade Blender

Pros An extremely powerful well constructed product For heavy-duty blending
Cons Basically none so far other than testing for leaks after reassembling the base
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Because the way this unit is constructed, it appears to be extremely durable.  For anyone who does a lot of heavy blending, this is the unit to get.
I am fully satisfied with the performance of this factory refurbished 750 W, six chopping blade Breville BBL600XL Ikon Diecast Blender.  This blender is also our best one to date. The speed of the blades are speed controlled electronically. This means under a light load and lower speed setting, the chopping blades would not spin up excessively.  Also under extremely heavy load, the blades would not slow down much either. Under that condition, maximum power and torque will be applied such as when pulverizing ice to make slush.  There is also a safety switch that cuts off the motor when the container is lifted from the base. It is designed so the motor cuts out before the coupling completely disengage.  The motor coupling on this unit is also more solid than the previous ones I ever encounter before in a blender.  The construction of the coupling unit is with a spline shaft that fits in a matching socket which is attached to the motor shaft. The best feature of this unit is also the hemispherical shaped bottom next to the chopping blades where food in which falls toward the six blades that sticks out in three different angles. The blades are arranged in more like a food processor fashioned. The blender cylindrical container is made of glass.  Unlike most cheaper blenders, the rubber sealed blade shaft and blades are supported on a sealed ball bearing instead of a sleeve bearing. There is also a bypass drain, to keep the sealed ball bearing from being flooded with liquid if the shaft seal should fail.  The problems with the one supported with a sleeve bearing is that they tend to overheat in time from friction.  Especially when the shaft seal start to seep causing overheating which melts the plastic which causes the bottom to distort as well as seizure of the chopping blades. One instance, the distortion of the bottom was enough to cause the coupling to slip completely destroying the coupling in the process. This happened to our previous blender.

The blender features five speeds controlled by a up to one minute maximum electronic timer. For most of our blending needs, we have to press the button again for the second minute for each batch.  It also has pulse feature for a quick chops such as for chopping ice into slush.  The powerful motor on this blender also runs extremely cool.  Both the lid and electrical plug are ergonomically designed with a finger loop to make it easy to grab a hold of.  Electrical plug has a loop hole right through the center slightly behind the prongs. I think it was designed this way to make it less likely for the user to pull the wire instead of the plug itself. It also comes with a black plastic socket for the easy removal of the base that contains the chopping blades for cleaning after each use. The base screws on is left-handed or counterclockwise for tightening and is sealed by a circular silicone gasket.  From my experience, it is best to place the gasket in position right side up and then screw on by inserting it from the bottom holding the glass container up right.  Doing it this way, keeps the gasket seated in the right position otherwise the gasket may slip out which leads to leaks.  It is also wise to test for leaks each time you reassemble the unit before each use.

We used this blender for miking soymilk, pulverizing rice to make rice flour and for other heavy-duty food preparation chores requiring the food to be pulverize around the kitchen.  Of all the blenders we ever own, this one does it with ease in comparison.

I will update this review as I learn more about this product in the future.
