First I was so proud and now I am very disappointed
Pros
Extra large juice feeding chute makes juicing very fast, quick assembly and quick clean up
Cons
Poor construction leads to juicing bowl having juice squirting and running from poor seal
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
If you juice occasionally then the Breville 800 may be for you. However, if you use it heavily think twice, because it is not a heavy duty juicer.
I bought this product because of the exceptionally positive reviews it had on Amazon.com and epinions.com websites. After buying the Breville 900, I thought I would upgrade to a better model that would not have the poor quality that resulted in the juice being sprayed and running down the sides of the juice bowl. However, I was again very disappointed to learn that the 800 model was really a classy and magnificent kitchen utensil that was its strongest point. In terms of the use, which I liked that the 900 model had in at least quickly juicing as many as 3 and 4 carrots or a medium sized apple at once, I wanted more this from the 800 model as well. However, the spitting, splurting, spewing, running through the seals of the juice bowl continued but it took more use to make this happen. It has made more work for me after I juice the produce. I need a juicer that can extract fruits and vegetables well but that does not paint my kitchen counter, floor, and walls with its juice. The Breville Company has stood behind their product 100% and have replaced two of these units; the last one I will sell so I do not have to continue having the company send me an new replacement every 1 - 2 months. My next choice is the Omega 4000 pulp ejector juicer, which is very durable and fairly easy to use but it does not have the large feed chute for produce to be juiced. Still, it will do the job and hopefully last more than the 2 month period that Breville works before it starts to have problems.
