The Bottom Line:
You will not be disappointed in any way with the product!
I've owned this for about a month. The night it came, my husband and I ground up 3 pork loins and made over 100 seasoned "porkburgers." The cooking surface is large and you can open it up and use it flat or close it and cook top and bottom at the time time. At first, we were confused by why the bottom surface is the flat surface and the top surface has the grill bars - but it didn't take too long to appreciate that design feature. You still get beautiful grill marks, but the main surface is flat and easier to clean.
The non-stick surface is awesome. Very hardy - and I can tell will stay in tact for a long time, which I can't say for any of the the GF grills we've owned.
There is a handy timer and variable temperature control, though we just cranked it up and used it on the hottest setting throughout our two-hour (or more) porkburger making session.
When we were done, the kitchen was in a terrible mess, but the grill cleanup was a snap. The container for holding run-off grease is huge - our very lean porkburgers hardly made a puddle in it. That reminds me, you can adjust the grill to be flat or tilted. Also you can adjust the height of the upper plate in case you're making something like paninis and don't want them squished, or doing a pizza and don't want it touching at all, but close enough to melt the cheese.
We just effervesced over the effectiveness of the design all evening long. And the crowning glory was that when you put away, the whole thing closes up and sets on end, taking up very little space at all in the pantry or on the counter.
