Excellent rectangular loaf maker at great price
Pros
Rectangular loaf, versatile programmability, quality construction
Cons
Dim display; press lid to turn light off. Too much clearance between paddle and shaft.

The Bottom Line:
Very good quality versatile machine at attractive price.
Our older breadmaker, purchased from DAK, functioned well for about ten years before stopping, leading me to order this unit.
The Breadman TR2500 BC arrived within two days (Dallas to Houston) with free shipping, and in good condition. I spent the time to read the manual thoroughly before using the unit (the operational procedure for this model is quite different from that for the old machine).
I had been somewhat prepared to run into problems, based on the reviews I had seen for this particular model. However, but for two minor shortcomings (no backlighting on LCD display, lid sometimes needs pressing down with finger to turn off side light), the machine performed very well and I am pleased with its quality of construction. The paddle was somewhat loose on the shaft, but inserting a thin sheet of paper around the shaft fixed this.
I have made several 1-1/2 and 2 pound loaves, white and wheat, and they have come out very well. The paddle comes out of the loaf from the weight of the loaf alone -- no prying out has ever been needed. Clean up is extremely easy with this model -- a rinsing is all that is needed.
