Great shaver - Annoying display!

Pros Close shave, pivoting head and trimmer
Cons Use common sense to save money on cleaner and cutters
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  The razor works very well for me.  I like using it. Use your head - only clean it when it needs it!
I've had a Braun 360 Complete Electric Shaver for almost two years now and I really like it's ability to shave! I have a short beard, but I use a shaver to keep my neck and cheeks free of facial hair as well as keeping the beard trimmed with the pop-up trimmer. It shaves and trims very well. I like the straight cutting head better than my old rotary Norelco, because the rotary blades made it impossible to keep a straight beard line.

I really like the two head settings. I use the pivoting setting for my neck area and use the head locked in position setting for more precision on the cheeks around the beard. The pop up trimmer is nice for keeping the beard and moustache under control.

I like the charging/cleaning cradle. It does a great job of keeping the razor clean.

My only complaint about the razor's automatic cleaning is that after two days' use, the razor's display says "Intensive cleaning needed." Really? It's still a full charge on the battery and I'm only shaving about half of my face. Not only that, but I open the head and brush the whiskers out every day. Charging and cleaning every two days seems like a bit of overkill to me.

Instead, I ignore the display and wait until the charge is almost fully down. I find that I clean the razor every 7 to 10 days that way and it is fine.

The razor also says in the instructions to change the cutting head and foil every 18 months. Someone ought to tell the person who programmed the razor since the display came on in less than a year and told me to change the cutting head. Which is it, 18 months or less than a year?

It seems that you should use your common sense when using this razor. Clean it when you feel it needs to be cleaned and change the cutter when you feel it needs to be changed. I think Braun has taken an idea from the automobile industry and tries to get you to use the expensive, disposible accessory products more often than needed. After all, check your car's factory written owner's manual and they recommend oil changes every 7500 miles - dealers will tell you to do it every 3000 miles - Hmm, I wonder why that is????
