Super shaver
Pros
Good shave, self cleaning, works great.
Cons
Cleaning solution has to be replaced ($), cleaning can be noisy.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Expensive but worth it. Self cleaning feature pushes it above others.
I got this shaver as a present for my first father's day. I used to have an older Braun flex shaver but the cutter and foil finally wore out and I couldn't get a replacement.
The neatest thing is the cleaning base. This thing really cleans the razor. It looks "out of the box new" clean. The only thing I have found is that the hair trimmer doesn't get cleaned very well, you still have to brush out the long hairs with the included brush. I don't use the trimmer very often so it is not a big deal.
The shave is very good for a foil cutter model. Nothing really beats a blade razor for a close shave (after all, you are removing a layer of skin with it). The pivoting head "hugs" the contours of the face/neck very well. It takes about 2 weeks to get used to using it, but now I don't even think about it. I do have to close the bathroom door in the morning when I leave because the cleaning procedure can be a bit noisy.
Overall I think it is the Porsche of shavers. Don't really "need" it, but it is fun to use.
