The Bottom Line:
Self cleaning rocks but most importantly it does what it i advertised to do, shave, and it shaves damn well.
When I first started shaving I used disposables. They were cheap and crap but did the job. Finally moved up to the Mach 3 and it was awesome. Smooth clean cut, but there was one problem that really bugged me. Replacing the razors. I can really feel when I need a replacement which is every few weeks and since 4 of those cost $~10ish it gets expensive. Figure in the expenses of shaving cream it gets a little costly. Notice I am a college student so I am a bit...frugle. Anyways I decided electric was the way to go and choose the Braun do to many good reviews of how clean the cut was and the self cleaning feature really appealed to me since I am lazy.
The shaver comes in a neat little box. Includes a leather travel thingie, a brush, a cleaning solution, charger, cord and of course the shaver. First thing you do is charge the shaver for 4 hours with the cord, then shave and then proceed to put it in the main charger where it can clean and charge as well.
First thing I notice...this thing haves closer then my Mach 3. Damn very nice! After I was done my skin felt very very very smooth, no razor burn at all. After cleaning it, I shaved again a few days later and again a very very close shave. After the cleaning there is a unique fragrence it adds to the shaver which is very cool and refreashing.
Ive had this thing for a few weeks and have had nothing but great shaves with it. Only possible draw backs with it are....replacing the cleaning solution, hope its not to expensive. Also replacement of the razor is reccomended every 18 months which pretty good, a lot less frequent then your Mach 3 blades. Finally they also reccomend you oil and lube it up when needed. Not sure how much of an inconvience this will be but we will see.
