Best electric shave ever. Worth the high cost and upkeep.
I bought this razor because, as I became older, something happened to my beard and skin that caused me to draw pinpoints of blood every time I shaved. I had owned a Braun previously, but stopped using it over ten years ago because the shave wasn't close enough. I bought this model because of the reputation of Braun and the innovative "cleans itself" design.
I am very satisfied. I believe this is the closest shave I could get without drawing blood. Because of the cleaning solution effect and fragrance, it feels like I'm using a new razor every day. It IS an expensive habit, however, both in initial price and in the $5.50/mo. cost of replacement cleaning fluid reservoirs. AND, I didn't have to worry about noting the "start" date on a sticker on the cleaning base, as the instructions recommended, in order to remind myself to replace the foil and cutter after 18 months use. My razor's foil head developed holes after only 8 months.
Nevertheless, the shave it delivers is worth every penny.
