Great shaver. Great cleaner.
I have very sensitive skin and when I asked my doctor about it he said I should clean both my straight razor and the foil of my electric shaver with rubbing alcohol. When I had to replace my electric shaver I was extremely excited to try the new Braun with the cleaner.
The shaver is excellent, the pivoting head and double foil give a very close smooth shave. The electric clippers also do a good job of cleaning up the longer hairs.
The digital display on the shaver is very convenient, telling you when to clean, battery life and when to charge, and even the length of your last shave.
The base is what really sets this shaver apart from the rest. Not only does it protect the foil it also cleans away bacteria that irritate the skin. I think all shavers will come with a cleaner like this some day.
I've had my shaver for almost two years now, and am extremely pleased with its durability. I've done a lot of traveling and it has always held up well. The battery is still going as strong as the day I bought it. I've replaced the foil once so far but that is probably because I lost the plastic travel guard.
The only negative thing I can think about is that the base/cleaner does take up a chunk of counter space. I have a small bathroom so I just leave it on top of the toilet. But I feel this is a small price to pay for the benefits of the cleaner.
