The Bottom Line:
If you can spend over $100 on a razor, definitely invest in this one.
I have been using an electric razor for a long time and have been Braun products for 10 years. When my last Braun died of old age (battery) I wanted to get the latest & greatest in razor. I am very pleased with my purchase.
I never liked cleaning my razor heads, but did it anyway to keep the shavings from spilling out as I shave. This is where this Braun really shines. All I have to do is set the razor in place and press the "clean" button. The razor starts humming and several minutes later (practically speaking, the next time I shave) the razor is as good as new.
Incidentally, the razor gives me a choice of charging, cleaning, both or none when I set it in the cradle.
The only extra task I have to perform is order the replacement cleaning cartridges. I couldn't find then at a local pharmacy, so I found them online. Braun does not offer an easy way to order them (you have to print a form instead of just ordering online), but there are sites that make it easier. The part number is "CCR2" and can easily be found at this site or by performing a Google search.
The one complaint I have will all razors is that they irritate my skin if I shave every day. (If anyone has a topical lotion or something for me to try, please let me know.) As far as this razor goes, I have experienced less problems with it than with the previous razor I had.
