The Bottom Line:
This razor is the best electric I've ever owned and probably will last the longest since it cleans itself. I'll never use a straight edge again.
If you are lazy and don't like shaving because you have to clean out your electric or you hate dealing with shaving cream, etc. then the Braun 7570 is for you.
The unit comes in a few pieces: the razor itself, the base unit, and the cleaning solution. Before using the razor for the first time, the unit must be charged for 4 hours. Also, open the cleaning solution package and place the whole thing in the base. After the initial charge, you are all set to go. After you are finished, simply put the razor in the unit, secure it, and the unit will start to clean itself for 15 minutes. The razor will last for about 50 minutes of shaving time. Recharging takes about 1 hour but you can shave with the cord in or do a quick charge.
The razor itself is quite impressive. I've had it for a month now. It took my face about 2 weeks to get used to the razor (red marks, etc.) Now, however, I get a near perfect, extremely close shave. The unit seems to have problems getting really close on my jaw bone and on the throat area. If you take your time on these areas you'll get an unbelievably close shave.
The razor has a display on it that is easy to read and understand. The display tells you things such as how much battery life is left, how long your last shave was, if it needs to be cleaned, etc.
The base unit serves as both a cleaner and a holder. The razor can be put it the base and either cleaned or cleaned and charged at the same time. After cleaning, your razor will be clean and have a slight fruity smell to it.
Don't worry about going on vacation or business. The shaver can still be charged without the base by simply plugging the cord directly into the razor. You can also manually clean the razor like any other electric with the provided brush. The package also includes a nice travel case that holds the razor, cord, and brush.
The cleaning solution packages need to be replaced every month or two. The base will tell you when the solution needs to be replaced. Replacement cartridges can be found in stores where the razor is found. (I payed $10 for 2 at Target)
