The Bottom Line:
If you have a lot of hair on your face avoid this item, because it will not do you any good.
After shopping around for about a month and reading reviews I decided to go with Braun 7526. I looked at everything from Remington to Norelco. The reviews made me choose this razor, despite the price ($129) since it was an Xmas present for my boyfriend.
My boyfriend was excited to try razor because he usually uses a regular razor and this was his first electric. A little info about him, he does not have a long beard or harsh thick hair on his face, but he didn't shave for maybe 2 or 3 days before trying it out. Also, he is 23 yrs old and has normal to sensitive skin.
The Braun 7526 razor missed CHUNKS of hair and ripped some hair out. It made some spots where he shaved very red and he mentioned that it hurt his skin. A note about my boyfriend, he is 23 and has normal to sensitive skin.
We put the razor in the cleaning device, but that disappointed us as well since it made a lot of noise. I'm not sure if this is normal for self-cleaning razors, but we were definitely not use to it.
After the first attempt using the razor we were skeptical, but decided to give the razor another chance. During his second try the spots the razor missed, on his neck and lower jaw areas, it never was able to shave. When he tried to shave the hairs that the razor missed, it made his neck turn bright red and bleed.
Needless to say, we are returning the razor ASAP. I do not recommend this to men with sensitive skin or long beards. One thing my boyfriend said it did well was trimming his sideburns. If you do get this item good luck and I hope you have a better experience.
