Large capacity, good motor
Pros
crushes ice well, cord coils into base, large capacity jug, powerful motor
Cons
blade driving gears are made of plastic and broke, blades not positioned properly
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
It's a decent blender but I feel it's overpriced and can find comparable blenders with metal gears and a better blade position today.
Purchased this blender on the recommendation of the salesperson who claimed it could solve my ice crushing problems with my old blender. I make alot of frozen drinks and smoothies and found that it required a decent blade and power to do it properly. This blender crushes ice and frozen fruit wonderfully!
The pieces come apart for easy cleaning and can be put into the dishwasher. The glass jug is made well and has measurement indicators on the sides. The cord coils into the base which made putting it into a small pantry cabinet easier. It blended everything I tried throwing into it without a problem.
After about 8 mths of use, the plastic gears that drive the blades started to break off. The blades aren't positioned properly it seems, had to stir the contents to get the whole mixture to blend. The lid has rubber ribs to ensure a proper seal, they began to age and the seal started losing it's lock.
Owning this blender has been a lesson for me in what works and what doesn't work. I feel that blenders for half this price would give me the same value. I'd look for a blender today that had metal gears and a better blade position.
