All the positives you read are true - this is a great blender. But don't even bother to buy one. The coupling gear on the power base gets stripped very fast, rendering the thing useless. I bought a second one and the same thing happened. Then I bought a replacement part (after waiting like six months -- I guess many people were ordering them) but couldn't get it on. I would guess you need a special tool
