Handy blender! Easy to use and Store!

Pros Great blender for small jobs, easy to clean and store
Cons Underpowered for some applications
Recommended it? Yes
I am well loved for my roasted corn chowder. However I used to dread making it as one of the steps involved transferring half of the scalding soup to a food processor and pureeing it. Add the mess of dripped soup to the potential for bodily harm, it is easy to see why I avoided making my signature soup. When my blender died, I was about ready to abandon the recipe altogether. That is when a friend suggested I try a stick blender. Since buying the Braun I no longer worry about making creamy soups. Nothing could be simpler, plug the unit in, stick it in the soup, blend until it you get the desired consistency.

I also use the blender for making my protein drinks in the morning, when time is at a premium. I just add milk, whey powder, yogurt and/or fruit - grrr grrr grrr - and I have breakfast. Rinse out the glass, rinse off the blades, and I'm out the door.

When I first saw the chopper, I was less than impressed. But when I was pressed for time the usefulness became apparent. Toss in tomatoes, onions, garlic, cilantro, and jalepe?os - zip - instant pico de gallo.

Storage is a breeze. No longer do I have to sacrifice counter space to a blender. The Braun and its accessories all fit in a drawer.

A friend of mine uses her's to make soap. She swears by the fact that it cut the time needed to achieve trace (that will mean something to soapmakers). However she suggests using the stick blender in bursts of 15 seconds and allow it to cool in order to prevent it from prematurely burning out.

DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, lift the blade out of what you are blending while the blades are whirling. Otherwise you'll splatter yourself and the walls with soup, soap, or whatever. Don't worry as everyone has done this. It only takes you a few times before you learn better.

The only proviso I have is the fact the motor is underpowered for some applications. I have found that the blender bogs down in thicker batters. The chopper can't be used for chopping up harder substances such as baking chocolate.

I think that this blender is perfect for those jobs requiring light blending or those with limited storage space.
