Great for Light Jobs

Pros Very handy. Cleanup's a snap!
Cons Doesn't chop ice; Cord sometimes gets in the way.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I would recommend this blender, particularly for light jobs like pureeing and smoothies. It's versatile, convenient and really easy to clean.
This has become my favorite small kitchen appliance. I use it for smoothies all the time and love the fact that I can puree right in the pot!

This came with a chopper attachment and whisk, as well as the blender. There is also a plastic beaker included, which, frankly, I never use. Why have something else to clean when you can use this right in your pot, bowl, or glass?

I really like the fact that I can use this for most blending and chopping jobs in my kitchen, without having to get out a big blender or food processor. It's so accessible and convenient.

One thing I use it for almost daily is making fruit smoothies right in the glass. I haven't tried ice (my directions say it won't do ice), but I do use frozen fruits. I find that if I put the juice in first, it does a great job. And what a pleasure to have nothing extra to clean but the blender attachment, which basically just needs to be rinsed off, although it is dishwasher safe.

I've also used it to puree vegetables for gravy and soup. I do that right in the pot and find that my creations come out really smooth. Again, rinse off the blender attachment and you're done!

I have used the chopper to chop fresh herbs like rosemary and was quite satisfied with the result. I wanted the rosemary very fine and that's what I got.

You do need to remember to keep the blender immersed or there's a big mess to clean up! However, as someone else said, it only takes once!

I really didn't look at other brands or models. I had seen quite a few of the "Food Network" chefs using immersible blenders, saw this one at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $30.00, had a 20% discount coupon and bought it. It was pretty much an impulse purchase, but one that I'm extremely happy with. I think it's a great little appliance for the price, but I do think I would look for more power if I were going to buy another one.
