The Bottom Line:
Great shaver with wet/dry capability at a very reasonable price.
Let me preface this review by saying that you'll never match the close shave of a straight razor. I've owned several different brands of electric razors over the years and some work better than others but none were as quick and effective as a straight razor.
The last shaver I owned was also a Braun but it originally cost me over $100. When the blades became dull after extensive usage, I replaced the blades at a cost of close to $30. After they became dull again, I started looking at other alternatives. When I came across this one for $29.99, I thought it was worth a try because it was the same cost as a replacement blade for my current shaver.
Upon receiving it, I plugged it in and was surprised by how quickly it charged. It didn't take anywhere near the 4 hours suggested. The battery life is amazing as well. I like to run down the battery entirely at least once and I had a hard time running this down. I used it every day for over a week and I eventually had to turn it on and let it run for over 20 minutes for it to finally die out.
The quality of the shave was amazing compared to my existing more expensive Braun. Part of it I'm sure was due to the new blade but I was highly impressed.
I haven't used the shaver in the shower so I can't attest to the performance in water but it does rinse nicely in the sink.
Overall this shaver is comparable to models costing four times as much.
