Excellent Shaver:

The Bottom Line:
It works much better than the $150 Panasonic "Vortex" it replaced.
I've had three Panasonic shavers. The first one had two cutter heads, cost $40 and was satisfactory. When Panasonic came out with a three head model for $80 I thought it would be better -- and it was. I really liked it but I dropped it and it broke. By then they had introduced their new "Vortex" super duper shaver which I paid $140 for and expected it would be even better than the predecessors. That was a mistake.
The $140 Panasonic "Vortex" was a complete clunker. It pulled, it left long hairs behind and it never worked in the curve of the neck and around the nose. It came with a cleaning "system" that I used only once because it didn't clean the shaver half as well as a manual rinsing did.
After about six months of use the "Vortex" started up by itself at 3AM, woke me up and wouldn't turn off. I sent it in for warranty service, which took three weeks. About six months later (yesterday)it did the same thing. So I tossed it.
Having learned that the price of a shaver doesn't ensure quality, I picked up the Braun 4775 at Target for $60. I've just used it for the first time and I am impressed! This is an excellent product in every aspect; it is superbly designed and built (typical German quality) and it's been a while since shaving has been this comfortable and close.
I didn't realize how accustomed I'd become to the "Vortex" pulling at every stroke. This Braun didn't pull once and it did a perfect job on the neck and around the nose.
I recommend this shaver very highly. Well worth its competitive price.
