This machine is just a temporary fix for your caffeine needs!

Pros The sleek black design fits nicely with most decors.
Cons Cheaply made, wears out quickly. Leaves a lot to be desired.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  The Braun will get you by in a fix, but I'd much rather have a Bunn!
About 9 months ago my old coffee maker went out on me and my husband ran up to the local Winn Dixie and purchased us the Braun 10 cup AroMaster Coffeemaker which is exactly what you might think, a drip type coffee pot that makes a 10 cup pot of coffee. My husband was thrilled with his thrifty purchase and brought it home boasting that it had only cost him a mere $20; well we got what we paid for!

Our new Braun coffee maker proved to be a temporary fix for our caffeine needs, but I don't expect that it will be with us much longer as I'm really disappointed with it and want to get me a better pot with a few more features for my family. I really miss the days when I could set my coffee up at night when I went to bed and awoke to a fresh brewed pot in the morning! This coffee maker does not even have a clock so there's no chance of that happening with it.

I will give the Braun credit for having a couple good points like its sleek black design which goes quite well with my decor; and it has bold white numbers marking the water level in the water tank and on the carafe making it easy to tell how much water is in the tank or the pot. But it also has a few bad points that make it an undesirable kitchen appliance.

The Braun states on the box that it automatically stops dripping if the carafe is removed, yet mine has never once quit dripping so that one little perk that it had was no good. I overlooked that downfall and chose to keep the machine till I could get me a better one, but I really should have sent it back for a refund immediately!

While it does make a very hot pot of coffee the warmer plate on it does not do it justice at all and soon the coffee is cooled down, so unless you go through a lot of coffee really quickly I'd suggest that you use a thermos or something else to keep it warm!

Another draw back to this coffee maker is the #4 cone shaped coffee filter which is required for this Braun. In order to use this filter as it is intended you have to fold down the edges of the filter and shape it right and then insert it into the filter basket. Thus it takes a little longer to put on the coffee, and is just not as easy as your standard basket coffee filter which you just drop in and fill.

Unfortunately I have to tell you that this isn't a very well made machine either, it's obviously made out of very thin plastic and after only 9 months of use the heat has begun to warp my machine a little, and has caused the coffee basket to sit improperly now, and whenever the carafe is in place the coffee basket opens slightly. I can only imagine what it's going to be like in a few more months.

In summary I would say that while the Braun AroMaster will do as it's supposed to and brew a pot of coffee, it isn't worthy of coffee connoisseurs, nor can you expect to use this machine for years in your home unless you just don't drink coffee. In my opinion it's just not durable enough for extended use. If you're not much of a coffee drinker you might want to consider this coffee maker as it is very reasonably priced, but if you want ease of use, or a pot of coffee made automatically this is not the coffee maker for you! In my opinion it's just a temporary machine until you can get a real one!
