The Bottom Line:  If you need to cut down on clutter of multiple gadgets, this phone gets the job done.
In my line of work I have to carry enough on my "duty rig". I've got everything: handcuffs, pepper spray, baton, gloves, digital recorder, flashlight, duty weapon, spare magazines, a radio, a pager and a cell phone. However, I still wanted to carry my trusty PDA...but I always left it in the car because I was out of room on my belt!

The Cingular 8125 (HTC Faraday 8125 for others) combines my PDA, cell phone and GPS (optional accessory) all into one.

Now, I can surf the web (internet capable), email, text message, make calls...and don't forget...play solitaire too!

The touch screen sensitivity is just right, but sometimes I accidentally press the power button (located on the top right) and I hear the warning beep. Using the proper carry case eliminate this problem.

The slide out keyboard is a nice touch for thumb board users, but I still prefer to use the on-screen keyboard with the stylus. The stylus stores in the bottom right corner.

The unit has a memory upgrade (mini SD) slot on the top, which allows the user to save pictures, as well as WMP audio and video files. The unit also includes Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint software, as well as an Adobe PDF file viewer. I added my own GPS software and an external bluetooth GPS antenna for navigation while on roadtrips.

I already carry an awesome Olympus digital recorder, but I guess I could cut that off my belt and use the built in recorder on the unit as well. It offers multiple settings for recording quality (stereo and mono) and it even plays back on the dual stereo speakers (built in as well).

Screen visibility is just right, except in very bright sun...but what phone doesn't fumble there? Everyone that plays with it loves the touch screen keypad for the phone feature. You can also adjust the brightness to conserve battery power. I have yet to have a problem with the battery and I use this thing all day, everyday. Oh yeah, it also has built-in WiFi so you can surf the net from your own personal wireless router or the one at your favorite coffee shop!

There is not much that this phone does not have or will not do. But how is the call quality you ask? Believe it or not, after reading many negative reviews in this area, I found it better than my Nokia N-Gage and Motorola V600. It even has a built-in handsfree system that allows you to set the phone in the cupholder and drive as you speak and listen to the caller.

I am impressed with this phone. I have had it since May of 2006 and I have yet to find a complaint about it yet. I highly recommend it for those looking to combine multiple units into one.
